Cleaning
the Exhaust Filter
NOTE:This
is located
on the
rear
of the
vacuum cleaner.
Step I
Release
the exhaust
filter
cover
and
remove
the
cover as
shown. Remove
the
filter
by
pulling
the
tab towards
you.
Step
ll
Tap
the
pleated
filter
on the
inside
of a trash can
to
remove
excess dust
and
dirt.
WARNING: Do not
apply water to
pleated
filter.
N
OTE : Repla
ce
filter if
any sign
of
damage.
Step
lll
Once
c'leaned
return
the exhaust
filter
to the
vacuum
cleaner.
Replace
the
exhaust
filter
cover
before
restarting
the vacu-
um
cleaner.

to
buy
When
purchasing
a
new
HEPA
Exhaust
Filter,
ask
for
HOOVER
part
no.
AH400to.
Power
Nozzle
belt replacement
The
belt in
your
power
nozzle
drives the
agitator. lt has
been designed
specifically
for
use
in
this
cleaner
and
is important
for
effective operation.
What
to buy
There are
other
belts manufactured
that
are similar in
shape
and size, but are not
designed for
the HOOVER
power
nozzle.
Such belts
do not
operate
the agitator cor-
rectly
and may
create stress
which could
damage
your power
nozzle.
Use
only a
genuine
HOOVER
Belt
part
no.
AH20000
when
a belt
replacement
is necessary.
When
to
replace
The
belt should
be
checked from
time
to
time
to be sure
it
is in
good
condition.
To
check, remove
the
hood
(see
following
sec-
tion). Replace
the belt if it is
stretched,
cut,
or broken.
How
to
replace
Step
I
Disconnect
cleaner
from
e'lectrical
outlet and
discon-
nect
power
nozzle
from
extension
wand.
To remove
hood,
turn nozzle
over
and
unscrew
the
7 recessed
Phillips
head
screws.
Step
ll
Return nozzle
to original
posi-
tion. Lower
Quick
Disconnect
by
depressing down
the
handle
release
pedal
and lift
off
the
hood.
